SNCC Newsletter June-July 1967 coverage of the Prattville Alabama arrest of Stokely Carmichael as he was speaking to supporters. During the night following, Police and Ku Klux Klan members surround a house where supporters were meeting. Shots are exchanged as Black men in the house return fire. National Guard units and Prattville police enter the home and arrest 9 people, Stanley Wise, Ulysses Nunley, Theophilus Smith, Julius Roberts, Rev. James Harris, Haber WiIlis, Charlie Devine, NathanieI Rudolph, and Horace Morris.
