How Confusion about Class is an Obstacle to Class Struggle

Class Content/Class Stand:
How Confusion about Class is an Obstacle to Class Struggle

Most people are positioned in a relationship of subordination since the capitalist class rules capitalist society through the control mechanisms of ideological forms. The ruling class uses
both male and white chauvinism as well as sexism and racism to exercise their control.

Hence confusion both as to class and as to the distinction between class content and class stand are obstacles to class struggle.

Let the masses of people get caught up in concerns about their class status, and how to move from one (lower) class to another (higher). And most of all, let them so focus on the theoretical distinctions of class so they lose sight of the necessity to take a class stand through action to support the interests of the class.

One result is clear: we can so focus on our personal class issues that we lose sight of both the basis and the necessity for class solidarity.

The other result is that we do not take control of our own development so that we can overcome the ideological controls of the ruling class. We take control by engaging in the process of ideological transformation.
