This is a reprint of pamphlet written by James Forman. It was produced in the print shop and sold at the bookstore. Forman's work had a significant impact on the O. It was probably produced in the late 1970's from work written in the 1960's.

James Forman was a Black radical revolutionary and was the first and longest serving Executive Secretary of Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee. This pamphlet was used in study groups that were the initial introduction to the CO for many people. Many of its precepts were adopted by the CO.  It was later sold in the Working Women and Man Bookstores. This edition republished the original with additional details added to the original. It was produced by the O printing press in the 1970's.
