We, as a group, the Beanery workers, are concerned about the way food is produced and distributed in the world today.
On the one hand, we have massive starvation, malnutrition and food shortages; on the other hand, we have farmers going broke and killing calves they can't afford to feed.
We have food industry practices of producing "chemical food" that has a direct effect on our physical and mental health, and then we have "organic health food" that is more expensive and often a fraud.
We are especially concerned with the plight of small farmers in their fight for survival and the control of the monopoly capitalists over the food industry.
Many myths and fantasies are being spread about these subjects and why they are happening. We do not want to depend on them any more.

Will you join us in searching for facts and reality in the above named subjects?

In order to do this systematically, we have established a Food Committee. We are now in the process of selecting films, pamphlets andspeakers to help us make a concrete analysis of these subjects. The next step will be to respond appropriately to our findings.
